With the school gardens growing lush and green due to nurturing weather, kids have taken to making mini moss gardens and fairy
gardens. Using moss, leaves, sticks and any available resources, they have
created small landscapes and terrarium-like gardens.
Green Gardens
There has been a lot of focus on gardens and growth lately.
We have revisited some seedlings that were planted weeks ago. The coriander is
big enough to pick now and has been a lovely addition to a few meals for staff!
When we planted the seedlings there was some left in pots and you can see how
differently they have grown. In the group we discussed what things plants need
to grow. Like soil, water and sun. We had lots of great questions about why the
colour and size is different and some great speculation about why they didn’t
grow the same.
Warm Clothing
Please remember to remind your children to bring appropriate
warm jumpers and jackets while the weather is chilly. We often spend time
outside in the evenings but cannot allow children to be outside in the cold in
just a t-shirt. For those children that bring a change of clothing for after
school, please ensure what they are packing is weather appropriate (this
includes footwear).
Lost Property
Recently we have moved all of our lost property to the SAC. If
you are looking for anything that wasn’t brought home try the bag hooks but
otherwise have a rummage through the SAC collection.
Banana Muffins
This week we made gluten and gluten-free banana muffins.
Some had cinnamon sugar on top others had chocolate frosting. The girls got to
measure and work with metric measuring units and discussed how a cup
measurement isn’t the same as any tumbler you might use at home.
Bloom Town
We would like to take the opportunity to introduce Bloom Town flowers by Camilla. We are
supporting Camilla as she was a former student of Eden Hills Primary and her
children now attend. Her store is located in the Foodland complex on Main Rd
Blackwood. They can offer a single bloom, a luxuriously
wrapped bouquet, a gourmet gift hamper, or a large scale arrangement. So,
please take the time to check out her beautiful shop!

Movie Review- Finding Dory
“Finding Dory” is an animated film which was a sequel to
“Finding Nemo”. Although it took Disney 13 years to make another movie for the
series, “Finding Dory” is placed only 1 year after the story of “Finding Nemo”.
Dory is played by Ellen DeGeneres who was there for the first movie and has
since returned as Dory once again. “Muppets Most Wanted” star Ty Burrell is
joining the crew as a whale. This movie is for all ages. This film is very
funny and will make children, teenagers and adults laugh.
