28th February 2019

Hello everyone,
It has been very hot this week so we've been keeping ourselves busy inside. Lots of our favourite activities from past weeks were popular once again, including lego, sewing, board/card games and Just Dance!

Our group of sewers have spent the last few day working on making scrunchies. They have been experimenting with different fabrics and materials, and have been practicing using a needle and thread under adult supervision. This has proved challenging for some, but their hard work and persistence has paid off. Have a look at what they have made so far!

In the SAC this week we have had a variety of sports including lots of basketball and cricket. When the temperature drops in the evening, the children have been constructing mini hammocks strung up around the play ground.

Seesaw
Just like many of the classes at EHPS, OSHC also has a Seesaw for families to access. This is a great way to keep up with what your child gets up to at OSHC. If you are a parent of OSHC and do not have access to your child's Seesaw, please feel free to visit us and ask for help!

We'd like to welcome our newest member of the OSHC team Chloe, and welcome back Tori from her trip to Thailand!

We hope you all enjoy the rest of this hot week!

Hi Everyone,

Recently, we have loved exploring nature play. We've used all sorts of materials like mud, sticks, leaves, bark and pine cones to create masterpieces and mud pies!

We've particularly enjoyed finding and harvesting 'monkey nuts' from pine cones around the school.

Last week we collected some big sticks and have constructed a number of impressive cubby-houses and forts. It was a challenge to work out how to build them properly without them falling over, but I think we've worked it out - ones still standing! We used bark and tarps to reinforce the walls, and decorated them with pillows and blankets.

We are looking forward to investigating what we can create next!
Thanks from Catie, Emily and the OSHC team

Hi all,

On the pupil free day, we went on an exciting trip to the Eden Hills CFS station. Neil and Tom showed us around the station and we looked at all the equipment and explored the trucks. We even got to use the hose and sit in the back of the fire truck - we managed to fit 13 kids!

We all loved learning about bush fires and fire safety and are looking forward to the next trip to the station!

Thanks from Catie and the OSHC team
