Was a massive couple of weeks we have had at OSHC. With two full weeks of vacation care, Spring Fair and the pupil free day.
In week one of vacation care we had so much fun playing games outside in the great weather and visited Hallett Cove conservation park. The staff appreciated how well the children all behaved at the beach, and thankfully it didn't rain.
The children did a great job cooking pizzas and making fruit kebabs in the kitchen for our healthy lunch and afternoon tea. The older children made some super yummy coconut and honey biscuits.
We had a ninja visit us the end the week who taught us some bullying defense tactics. In week two we had a long drive up to Chookalaroo Campground in Kuitpo, and it was totally worth it! The children enjoyed climbing the trees, jumping across the creek, roasting marshmallows and toast and a lucky few even saw a red fox.
After visiting the recycling plant at Wingfield on Wednesday we decided to make paper from recycled scraps.
The children added sparkles, flowers, herbs and old coloured paper to make some beautiful varied creations.
For our final day of vacation care we visited the museum in the city. The children loved this excursion especially after lunch when we rolled down the grass hill near Parliament house...until some of us got very itchy!
We enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces at the Spring Fair and we hope you all enjoyed the afternoon. The pupil free day the following Monday was great fun, we made some bee hotels. Bee hotel's encourage native bees to come into the garden.
Molly taught us all how to make some fantastic reusable bee wax wraps. They were very popular so we should have another opportunity to make some more in our next vacation care.
Again, a big thank you to all the children for their excellent behaviour over vacation care, looking forward to our next in December (not too long now!).
P.S. We have had a snake sighting in the school so be careful during this hot weather.
Thanks Tori and the OSHC team.
