Our Philosophy
We aim to provide a nurturing environment that is physically safe, emotionally secure and inclusive of all, that values diversity of family backgrounds and cultures, religious beliefs, abilities and special needs. We acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional owners of the land that we use and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait cultures as an intrinsic part of our countries history, it’s present and it’s future.
We promote a supportive environment that treats every child as an individual and with respect, where curiosity, initiative, decision making and learning are encouraged and self-esteem is enhanced. We believe that each child has the right to be an active member of the community in which they live and to be able to express feelings and opinions and to be involved in decisions that may affect them.
We support a collaborative relationship between children, families, school, local communities and educators to best meet the needs for care for all children and families who use our service.
We are committed to a culture of ongoing self-reflection and self-review, for educators and children, to maximise learning outcomes, to underpin our programming and to encourage change and growth.

Our Programming
Our service is guided in its programming by My Time, Our Place which is a framework for School Age Care in Australia. This framework focuses on viewing children as active participants and decision makers. Children are given choice and responsibility and through this learn to make connections between actions and consequences. The framework acknowledges time and place as children collaborate with educators to organise activities and experiences that are meaningful to them. My Time, Our Place considers OSHC a vital time and place for children to relax, make friends, engage in personal growth and develop skills and attitudes for healthy living.

For more information see My Time, Our Place information in the OSHC office

Our Quality Standards
Eden Hills OSHC aligns itself with the National Quality Framework. The NQF is based on seven practices to ensure quality education and care.
These practices are:

                Educational Program and Practice
                Children’s Health and Safety
                Physical Environment
                Staffing Arrangements
                Relationships with Children
                Partnerships with Families and Communities
                Leadership and Service Management

New Payment Option
Qkr is now at Eden Hills Primary OSHC
The new Qkr (pronounced ‘quicker’) app is now live for families of students of Eden Hills Primary.
Qkr by Mastercard can be downloaded for free from Apple’s app store for iPhones (iPads should download the iPad app) or from Google Play for Android phones and tablets.
After downloading  the app and registering, simply select Eden Hills Primary School from ‘nearby locations’ on Qkr or type EHPS after tapping the magnifying glass in the top right of the home screen of Qkr, then the app will always recognise you as part of the school in future to make payments even easier.
You can pay your 2016 OSHC and Vacation Care payments right now using Qkr, so why not download it today and take a look at our school on Qkr.

Please note that while this blog is intended to build communication between OSHC and families, please be aware that any bookings, enquiries, enrolment information and admin business still needs to follow the previous avenue and contact Dianne via phone or text if you have any queries.
